Welcome to the Department of Physics, Barkhetri College. The Physics Department of Barkhetri College was established in the year 2020, along with other newly introduced science departments adhering to the government sanction order no. AHE.594/2018/20 dated 31st July 2020. The department immediately started offering Major and pass courses in Physics in undergraduate courses under Gauhati University in the same year itself. From the academic year 2023-24, the Four-year undergraduate programme (FYUGP) is introduced under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

To inspire young students to be skilled, efficient, punctual, disciplined, and cultured citizens for building a peaceful and prosperous society.
Mission:
• To reinforce the fundamental concepts of physics among students and provide a better understanding of various physical phenomena by demonstrating the connection between observation and theory.
• To motivate the younger generation to visualize Nature through Physics and apply physics in real life.
• To create interest towards the pursuit of higher studies as well as innovative research by engaging students in various scientific activities, excursion tours and creating awareness about science innovations.
